메리노울을 사용해 혁신적으로 직조한 울 인조 퍼 소재는 전통적인 퍼 또는 시어링한 양털 같은 모습과 느낌을 모방하기 위해 브러시 과정을거칩니다. 저지 니팅 방식으로 직물의 한쪽에 고리 구조를 만든 후 잘라내어 위로 돌출된 쪽을 솔질하고 펴서 인조 퍼 효과를 냅니다. 울은 실제로 다른 동물성 섬유와 유사하며 머서리화 가공된 메리노울 실을 사용하면 럭셔리함을 더할 수 있습니다.
Using Merino wool as faux fur maximises the fibre’s natural benefits. Garments created with wool faux fur have the added natural benefits of thermoregulation, breathability, odour resistance and the peace of mind that the fabric comes with a less impactful environmental solution than synthetic faux fur or real fur.

2019년 울마크 프라이즈 파이널리스트인 엔젤 첸은 동물 가죽이 아닌 여섯 가지 색상으로 염색된 100% 울로 자카드 퍼 코트를 제작했습니다. 특히 울 소재에 선명한 색상을 표현하기 위해 특별히 개발되고 엔지니어링된 반응성 염료 아노픽스를 사용하여 염색되었습니다. 이는 울이 얼마나 염색성이 뛰어난지를 보여줌과 동시에 크롬 기반 염료를 대체하는 친환경 염료임을 증명합니다.
